Blackouts are normally bad news for electric vehicles, but Ford couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create a blacked out version of the F-150 Lightning Platinum.
Called the Black, the truck features a matte black wrap, black badging, and an “Agate Black gloss roof that blends in with the glass to create a smooth surface, making the non-reflective matte black exterior stand out even more.”

The model also has Agate Black door handles and power-deployable running boards with Agate Black accents. They’re joined by a smoked light bar, a soft tonneau cover, and 22-inch matte black wheels with matching lug nuts.

The upgrades continue in the cabin as drivers will find black Nirvana leather seats as well as aluminum plates, in the frunk and driver’s door jamb, with “limited edition numbering.” Buyers will also find awful “Lightning” graphics on the panoramic glass roof, which will have you reaching for a razorblade faster than you can say Edsel.
Since the special edition is based on the F-150 Lightning Platinum, it’s powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system pumping out 580 hp (433 kW / 588 PS) and 775 lb-ft (1,050 Nm) of torque. This enables the truck to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than four seconds and travel up to 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge.
Production is limited to 2,000 units and pricing starts at $97,995. If this sounds like your cup of tea, Ford said deliveries will begin in early 2024.
